Reflexology can benefit almost everyone. An increasing number of people are using this safe, natural therapy as a way of relaxing, balancing and harmonising the body.
WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?
Reflexology is an ancient healing art, known as one of the oldest natural therapies dating back to the civilisations of Egypt, India and China.
Reflexology is a deeply relaxing and therapeutic treatment enabling the body to heal itself. Following illness, stress, injury or disease, your body is in a state of "imbalance", and vital energy pathways are blocked, preventing the body from functioning effectively. Reflexology can be used to restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium and encourage healing.
Since reflexology treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of particular problems, most people can benefit from treatment; therefore reflexology can be considered ideal for:
Working on stress and anxiety related condition
Strengthening the immune system
Increasing energy levels and well-being
Supporting women’s health including menstrual problems and hormonal balance
Dealing with sleep disorders
Easing digestive disorders
Easing respiratory disorders
As your holistic healthcare practitioner, I will support you as a whole person taking care of your well-being on all levels. I do not diagnose, prescribe or cure. Reflexology helps us feel supported physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, encouraging us to heal and maintain health in all areas of our lives.
At your first treatment there will be an in depth, confidential consultation form to complete. This will enable a treatment plan to be customised to suit your individual needs. All sessions will normally last 90 minutes allowing time for you to explore and expand on anything that may arise during your treatment.
A course of treatments may be recommended depending on your needs.
Specific reflexes are mapped out on the feet relating to the organs, glands and musculoskeletal reflexes. Connecting with the energy through your feet, I will tap in to and connect with any imbalances and /or energy blockages by working on and stimulating these reflex points enabling a release, restoring the free flow of energy within the body.
Endocrine system and Chakras
There are seven major chakras all of which have a relationship to one of the various glands of the body’s endocrine system. They are located along the spinal cord (branching from nerve roots to endocrine glands and organs). The energy created from our emotions and mental attitudes run through the chakras which interact with the body’s endocrine and lymphatic systems, having an effect on blood and tissue flow.
During a Reflexology treatment, attention will be given to each of the Chakra reflexes that are positioned along the spinal reflex (this runs from the base of the heel to the tip of the big toe). It is very important that our Chakras are nourished and balanced in the correct way improving the vital energy flow and releasing energy blocks in order to maintain good health and prevent dis-ease.
After treatment many people have an immense feeling of deep relaxation and a sense of calm, others may feel energised and completely invigorated, whatever the response, it is all part of the healing process.
FACIAL REFLEXOLOGY - The Bergman Method
Facial Reflexology is based on the same theory as hand and foot Reflexology however in this treatment the focus is on the pressure points located on the face.
The face provides a beautiful and precise tool to read what is going on within the body’s internal organs, central nervous system and neuro-biological system. The face’s proximity to the brain and cranial nerves makes Facial Reflexology exceptionally powerful in impacting the body systems . It can be particularly useful for people suffering with neurological conditions or nervous system disorders by working closely with the central nervous system and the muscles of the face and head.
The healing experience of facial reflexology not only gives you all the benefits of foot reflexology, in promoting deep relaxation helping to relieve many symptoms of stress and fatigue, it also gives you a rejuvenating transformation through lifting and sculpting facial muscles by stimulating blood flow, increasing circulation to the face and head. Using a range of massage and natural facelift techniques, facial reflexology has a wonderful effect on the skin in helping to strengthen layers of skin tissue and improving skin tone, leaving it looking radiant and glowing with an uplifting effect.
Facial Reflexology is very effective in improving lymphatic drainage encouraging the elimination of toxins and can help relieve muscle tension, mental strain, headaches & migraines. Facial Reflexology aims to reduce the symptoms and effects of many common ailments including sinusitis and nasal congestion
This treatment is further complemented by the addition of Zone Face Lift therapy.

Ziggie Bergman is the UK's foremost facial reflexologist and founder of 'The Bergman Method' Facial Reflexology. If you are trying to conceive, Reflexology can help support you and your partner both physically and emotionally. As this therapy is very effective in calming the nervous system, this helps to reduce stress and worry and increases well-being , helping you to cope better with the emotional journey along the way. Reflexology also aims to balance hormone levels enhancing the body’s own natural healing abilities, and enabling all body systems to function efficiently.
From the early stages of morning sickness to delivery discomfort, pregnancy can be physically and emotionally demanding. Post-natal Reflexology is a wonderful treatment for recovery regardless of whether you have had a natural/straight forward birth or a traumatic one. After the experience of birth, you can be left feeling exhausted, tired, overwhelmed, sore and emotional. Your body is recovering and gradually returning to a non-pregnant state, which is understandably a time of significant emotional, physical, and hormonal change.
Reflexology with its many benefits of restoring and re-balancing qualities, helps to support you during this transitional time.
Some of the benefits of post-natal Reflexology include:
Rebalancing and restoring the hormonal changes during post-natal recovery
Offers emotional support, including easing anxiety and post-natal depression
Easing breast feeding discomforts and encouraging lactation
Boosts the immune systemHelps digestive problems and constipation
Increases vitality and maintains energy levels
Improves circulation and lymphatic drainage
Encourages wound healing by increasing blood flow
Eases back pain and assisting recovery following an epidural
Postnatal Reflexology can be carried out as soon as you have given birth. I recommend treatment as soon as you feel ready following the birth, it will help you to feel relaxed, restored and rejuvenated.
